Neurovisual function in patients with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis
Schusterová, Tereza ; Šafářová, Marcela (advisor) ; Kučerová, Klára (referee)
This thesis deals with the evaluation of neurovisual functions in patients with Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis (AIS), which is a relatively under-researched topic. The study focuses on comparing selected oculomotor functions using the RightEye device between AIS patients and a healthy control group. The theoretical part introduces the etiology of this spinal deformity, mentioning potential changes in sensory systems that might contribute to the development of AIS. The treatment of this condition is briefly described as well. This section also discusses the possibilities of examining oculomotor functions using eye tracking methods, particularly the RightEye device. Methodology: In the practical section, the results of measurements on the RightEye device were compared between a group of 17 AIS patients and 17 healthy individuals. Both groups underwent device-based measurements, crossed eye-hand lateralization assessment, and hidden strabismus testing. The study assessed saccadic eye movements (targeting vs. overshooting, movement speed) and eye-hand reaction times, with the expectation of better results for the healthy control group. Results: Statistically significant results (p<0.05) were found in the evaluation of the number of repeated vertical and horizontal saccadic movements within a certain...

The work is divided into a theoretical and research part. The theoretical part deals with terms related to the topic of the work. The research part analyses hygienic and work habits of left-handed pupils in the first, second, and third grade of primary school. The aim is to explore the issue of left-handed pupils' writing and suggest the possibilities of enriching their education.
Analysis of the advantage arising from the swing laterality on the PGA Tour
Šuráň, František ; Červinka, Michal (advisor) ; Chadimová, Kateřina (referee)
Focusing on golf stances, the study examines if left-handed players possess advantages due to factors like golf course architecture. Examining a dataset from a prestigious male professional golf tour, we assess laterality's impact on earnings. A dummy variable is established to evaluate the influence of left- handedness, equaling one if a golf player is left-handed and 0 otherwise. The results confirm the underrepresentation of left-handed golf players, which con- trasts with the overrepresentation of left-handers in other sports. The analysis also reveals that strokes gained and driving distance are significant factors in golf player earnings, while the percentage of greens in regulation and our new variable is not. Interestingly, a randomly selected left-handed player tends to earn more and outperform a right-handed player in driving distance but not in the average number of fairways hit in regulation. The findings suggest that left-handers' advantages may be more significant at lower performance levels, where errors and bad shots are more common, leading to greater variations in outcomes between right and left-handed players. Initial writing of left-handed pupils
Hečová, Lenka ; Ronková, Jolana (advisor) ; Wildová, Radka (referee)
The thesis deals with lateralityand focuses mainly on left-handedness. The thesis is dividedintoa theoretical part, whichaims to introduce the reader to the concept of laterality and its types, degrees and kinds, then it focuses on left-handedness in the past and present, teaching of initial writing and related hygiene habits, assessment of writing, left-handed writing, writing methodology, bound and unbound writing, stages of teaching writing and aids for left-handedpupils. The aim of the empirical part is to confirm or refute the stated hypotheses by means of questionnaire survey and observation, namely, that the laterality of the teacher has an effect on the teacher's preparation and teaching of initial writing, and that the laterality of the teacher has an effect on the qualityof left-handedpupils' writing, and that the qualityof left-handedpupils' writing when taught by a left-handedteacher is higher than when taught by a right-handed teacher, and to answer the research question of whether teacher laterality has an effect on the development of a teacher's preparations for initial writing, on the teaching of initial writing, and on the quality of pupils' writing. The results of the questionnaire survey and observation confirm all the hypotheses and show that the teacher's laterality affects the...
The influence of laterality of lower limbs of football players on game success rate.
Svoboda, Lukáš ; Dlouhý, Martin (advisor) ; Pokorný, Ladislav (referee)
The work examines 12 players from the English Premier League and their teams. The sample focuses on 3 players with a dominant right lower limb playing on the right side of the pitch, 3 players with a dominant left lower limb playing on the right side of the pitch, 3 players with a dominant left lower limb playing on the left side of the pitch, and 3 players with a dominant right lower limb playing on the left side of the pitch for a period of 3 months, corresponding to 12 matches. The players were monitored using video analysis. Their game success was recorded using notation methods. Statistical data analysis was used to evaluate the collected data. The aim of the work was to determine the success of the players in resolving game situations according to their laterality and playing positions. Their success was also compared and conclusions were drawn from the results. The results of the work showed that players playing on their non-dominant side excel mainly in shooting and passing statistics. Players playing on their dominant side showed significantly better results in centering. It was also found that both groups of players showed minimal percentage difference in the frequency of using their non-dominant limb. Motor skills in a preschool child with impaired communication ability
MIČKOVÁ, Markéta
The topic of the bachelor's thesis is motor skills and graphomotor skills in a preschool child with impaired communication ability. The aim of the bachelor's thesis is the training and practice of gross motor skills, oromotor skills and graphomotor skills in preschool children with impaired communication skills aged five to six years who attend a speech therapy class established at a regular kindergarten. Another goal was to develop a methodological program. One of the partial goals was to observe and shoot a selected research sample during activities developing motor skills. The theoretical part deals with the topic of impaired communication skills in preschool children, the possibility of requesting a postponement of compulsory school attendance and also selected cognitive functions affecting motor activities. The main part of the theoretical work consists of the chapter on motor skills, which includes motor skills, gross motor skills and coordination of movement, graphomotor skills, oromotor skills and also fine motor skills. The content of the next part consists of laterality and speech therapy in the Czech Republic. In the practical part, the method of observation was applied, mainly due to video recording and also the method of individual approach and interview. The methodical program for the development of motor skills contains methodical procedures of exercises, elements from the field of oromotor skills and graphomotor sheets. All these materials were applied for one month and evaluated according to selected or elected evaluation scales. The results are successful, as all children from the selected research sample improved in all stimulated areas.
Comparative amount of muscle mass and involvement preferential and dominant lower limbs in the Wingate test and jump test in adolescent runners
VÍTŮ, Sabina
This graduation thesis deals with the comparison of the amount of muscle and lower limb performance of runners on medium and long distances. 25 athletes aged 18,12 +- 4,51 years are tested, who are tested once on a step weight Tanita, they are also subjected to the Wingate test on a bicycle ergometer, test on the reaction platform, the measurement of lower limb segments and the writing and kicking test. To compare the relationship between muscle mass on lower limb, fat mass on lower limb, muscle mass and performance in the Wingate test, muscle mass and Jumpmax test, muscle mass and circumference of lower limb segments, lower limb circumference and Jumpmax test, lower limb circumference and Wingate test, Jumpmax test and the Wingate test uses the Pearsons correlation coefficient. Based on the research, it was found that lower limb with a larger proportion of muscle mass does not perform significantly higher performance than the other limb. It was found that a jump from a limb with more muscle mass does not reach the higher jump from a limb with more muscle mass. It was found that probands do not achieve significantly higher jumps in the Jumpmax test from limbs with larger muscle circumference. Probands do not reach significantly higher in the Wingate test from limbs with a larger power circumference. Furthermore, it was found that the height of jump from one limb in the Jumpmax test does not correlate with the performance of that limb in Wingate test. In 52 % of athletes, a connection was found between the more powerful lower limb in the Wingate test, the preferred lower limb in the kicking test and the preferred lower limb in the rebound.
